 Update: Improved speech-to-text

Great news! Our speech-to-text technology has been improved! Our technology for Dutch, Flemish, French and German (Austrian) has been through a change and is now available in an even better version than it was before. How? The overall readability of our transcripts is much better, the interpunction is more accurate and the word error rate has been strongly improved.

We’ve already received several positive responses from a diverse range of users, yet we will be keeping a close eye on improvements. Have you noticed the difference yet? We would love to receive your feedback! Please don’t hesitate to share your experiences with our support team. Contact them here: support@rtvmonitor.nl

Media monitoring is a must!

Nowadays we spend a lot of time in front of a screen, in the old fashioned sense, in front of the television, or ‘online’ fixated on our smartphone, laptop or tablet. On average the Dutch watched 154 minutes of television per day (or 2 hours and 34 minutes) in 2021. The percentage of watching on-demand went up by 17,2 % (or 27 minutes per day), research by Stichting KijkOnderzoek shows. The total time spent in front of a television screen was even more: 200 minutes (or 3 hours and 20 minutes). This entails all live and on-demand television, as well as streaming (such as Netflix and Disney+).

Podcasts are definitely here to stay too. From the latest research of Markteffect Podcast Monitor (the only extensive research done into the development and popularity of podcasts in the Netherlands – December 2021), 46% of the Dutch listen to podcasts sometimes. on average even 100 minutes per week.

And also radio still isn’t ‘dead’: the last monitoring of the average listening time of the Dutch is 2 hours and 32 minutes per day (Stichting Nationaal LuisterOnderzoek, December 2021)

With these minutes of television, radio and podcasts the average Dutch person consumes, it is a shame if you don’t realise your organisation, important brand or a relevant person of interest is mentioned and you miss it. The ‘traditional’ media are here to stay. When seeing the before-mentioned numbers, monitoring media surely is a must.

And that is exactly where RTV Monitor comes in, we give insight into mentions from television, radio and podcasts. An overview of all of your appearances in the media (and don’t forget about your competition and/or other stakeholders) is essential in a busy media landscape. You wouldn’t want to miss out on anything that may be of influence on your reputation.
